A big congratulations to Rod Turner from Hobart for being voted the Gunnar Pusta 35+ Seniors Most Improved Player for his outstanding Tasmanian performances in 2012.
Turner battled back onto the tennis scene after undergoing a knee reconstruction in 2006. Since this set back Rod has consistently played all Tasmanian events as well as crossing to the mainland to represent Tasmania. Rod achieved the following results in the Seniors Championships in 2012;
60 & Over Men’s Doubles Winner at the Sunshine Seniors Championships
55 & Over Men’s Doubles Winner and 55 & Over Mixed Doubles Runner Up at the Tasmanian Seniors Championships at the Domain Tennis Centre.
We feel Rod is a very valid receiver of this prestigious award due to his hard work, determination and fun loving attitude towards the game of tennis. Most people will attest that when you run into Rod you will leave with a smile on your face.
