With the light dimming on a fantastic 2013 calendar there are still some great Seniors events across clubs in Tasmania. This multitude of events will no doubt keep players sharp and ready for the prestigious Australian Seniors Carnival which is set to hit Hobart January 12-24 2014.

Tournament play kicks off in October with the Sunshine 35+ Seniors Championships at the Sunshine Tennis Club. Historically this tournament has been a great avenue to play competitive tennis in a social and friendly atmosphere. Sunshine Tennis Club do a fantastic job at making their players feel welcome with a picturesque backdrop. Rounding up tournament play is the prestigious Tasmanian Seniors Championships being held at the Domain Tennis Centre in Hobart. This great event is a celebration of all the Seniors achievements over 2013 and will serve as a final get together before the Australian Seniors Championships in January 2014.

Running alongside these tournaments is Seniors social days which are held of a Sunday morning with a large emphasis on social play and enjoyment. These days are a great way to meet new people and participate in as much tennis as you wish. After play there is afternoon tea and light lunch options. We currently have two more social days left in 2013 with details as follows;

• Sunday 13 October 10am-3pm – Geilston Bay Tennis Club
• Sunday 10 November 10am-3pm – Trevallyn Tennis Club
