Job title: Head Coach, North West
Explain what you do in your role at Tennis Tasmania:
Promote participation in tennis across the North West, coach, run tournaments, organise competitions, help coaches and introduce school kids to the sport.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing kids improving and have fun playing tennis.
How long have you worked with Tennis Tasmania?
Since 2017.
What were you doing before joining Tennis Tasmania?
Self-employed head coach and tournament manager at Frankston Tennis Club in Melbourne for 22 years.
What is your earliest tennis memory? Hitting on an abandoned court near home with no net or lines, using purple wool as the net and a warped second-hand wooden racquet.
What is your favourite tennis memory?
Winning prizemoney in a doubles event with my father, getting him to stand in the alley during points.
Who is your favourite professional player?
Rafael Nadal. I love his work ethic, modesty and professionalism.
How would you describe your own game style?
Currently a slow-moving, soft-hitting attacking baseliner.
