Tournament Director Fairlie Lamond was full of praise for the wider tennis community for their sportsmanship, positive attitudes and support throughout the Championships.

“I’d like to send a massive thanks to all players, officials and parents,” she said.

“You were all so wonderful to work with and it was our absolute pleasure to host everyone during this school holiday event.”

The strength of the draws was evident by the number of seeded interstate players across all divisions, however a number of locals were able to claim individual titles, led by Tasmanian Easter Championships title winners Britta Russell and Alicia Dale.

The locals fared well in the doubles events, with Rupert Mullins, Lily Marshall and National Claycourt Championships standout George Anderson registering wins, while the 10/u awards division saw some familiar names on certificates.

The next competitive stop and final event of the school holidays for many 12/u and 14/u juniors will be the Rafa Nadal Tour event in Burnie, set to take place from 17-20 April at Burnie Tennis Club.
