Congratulations to the eight Tasmanian tennis coaches who have completed the final two contact days of the Level 1 Development Coaching Course (formerly Junior Development Course). Across the past five months, these coaches have completed ten day-long sessions, in Hobart and Launceston, under the guidance of Coach Relationship & Education Manager Alyssa Hibberd (TAS).
Participants covered the foundations and delivery of Red, Orange and Green ball used in the Hot Shots program along with adult coaching and cardio tennis. Participants also worked on the coaching eye, serving mechanics and various professional development activities.
“I found the development coaching to be very comprehensive and well- structured. The content was relevant and applicable to every day coaching of all levels; Alyssa as the coach was knowledgeable and engaging with the team overall. I found the team sharing sessions very valuable and essential to the learning experience overall.” – Yeoh Kean Wah, Course Participant.
This is the first time the course has been held in Tasmania since 2021. Over the next 12 months participants will complete the remainder of the formal coursework and assessment tasks to achieve their formal qualifications and become Level 1 Development Coaches.
