22 October 2021 | Tennis Tasmania
The 2021 installment of the PMG Tasmanian Tennis Awards was a great success. On November 18 the Tasmanian tennis community came together to celebrate all things tennis, in front of a sold out room, a number of individuals, and groups were congratulated and thanked for their hard work and efforts throughout a tough year. Held at the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania over 110 guests had the chance to catch up with members from across the state, while enjoying dinner and live music. Special thanks also to Powell Motor Group for their support of the event, and participation on the evening.
– CHECK OUT PHOTOS FROM THE NIGHT –
COVID might have prevented special guests from flying in for the event, but that didn’t stop the celebrity appearances! Exclusively for the Tasmanian Tennis Community, Todd Woodbridge recorded an interview Evonne Goolagong Cawley and – Tasmanian tennis legend – Helen Gourlay about their rivalry and experience.
In keeping with the Royal theme of the venue Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania was also in attendance with husband Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers AO.
Below is the list of winners selected by impartial panels. We would also like to congratulate and thank, all those who were finalists for awards, all those nominated, and everyone working hard to make our sport fun, accessible, inclusive and competitive! Special congratulations also goes to Phil Bowden, who was awarded life membership of Tennis Tasmania on the night, for his many, many years of service.
