Fourteen young tennis talents have been chosen to represent Victoria in the Optus 12s and 14s Australian Teams Championships to be held during the December Showdown at Melbourne Park.

Hard work, training and great tournament results throughout the year has paid off for many juniors, including Todd Millington (Williamstown), Stephanie Serafidis (Moonee Ponds), Samyuktha Rajagopalan (South Kingsville) and Marcel Du Sart (Donvale) who have been selected to play for Victoria for the first time.

Chase Ferguson has been chosen to represent Victoria for the second time and says he can’t wait for the tournament to begin.

“I am very excited and honoured to play for Victoria and I look forward to competing,” said Ferguson.

The Optus 14s Australian Teams Championships will be held from 23-27 November and the Optus 12s Australian Teams Championships will be held from 5-9 December at Melbourne Park.

“The girls and boys we have representing Victoria are some of the most talented juniors in Australia,” said Nick Hinneberg, Executive Manager of Operations at Tennis Victoria.

“The Australian Teams Championships is one of the biggest events of the year for our players and I wish them every success.”
