150 newly arrived Australians attended Australian Open 2012 through the Western Bulldog’s Settlement Grant Program in partnership with Tennis Victoria.
For many of the attendees it was their first experience of tennis and Australian sport.
The Western Bulldogs leverage the power of sport to assist refugees and migrants to develop self-reliance and successfully integrate into the Western Region community.
The program has supported over 3000 newly arrived Australians from right across the globe, including Somalia, Burma, Sudan, India, Vietnam, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Ethiopia, Indonesia and Thailand to become a part of the community.
