Barb Currie has been the Secretary of Keon Park Tennis Club for nearly 30 years, and, as a result, has become an expert in tennis administration. However, when it came to managing her club’s membership base, Barb found it difficult keeping her members’ information up-to-date.
When she heard about Tennis Victoria’s My Tennis program, Barb was one of the first administrators to sign up for a training session.
Barb wouldn’t consider herself to be computer savvy and was not sure if she would be confident running a computer based membership program on her own. After her initial group training session, Barb still was not 100 percent sure she had mastered the program.
“At first it was a little overwhelming using a new membership computer program, so I arranged for a one-on-one session with a Tennis Victoria staff member,” said Currie.
With a few training sessions under her belt, Barb was away, and using the program to its full potential. It has now been over a year since Barb began using the program and she would recommend the program to other club administrators.
“I would not hesitate to encourage other clubs to use it. It makes doing membership so much easier.”
