Congratulations to Al Davies, from Bruce Park Tennis Club, who has won the MLC Tennis Hot Shot of the Month for August.
Al was presented the award at Bruce Park by Tennis Victoria Board Member Anne Baldwin alongside his coach Libor Kuthan.
Last year, there were over 260,000 kids in Australia who played MLC Tennis Hot Shots at their school or local tennis club, and Al was one of them.
Al has won himself a prize pack from MLC, which included an equipment kit, an iPod touch and a VIP trip to Australian Open 2013 with his family.
In addition to this, Al will also go in the running to win the MLC Tennis Hot Shot of the Year award, with the winner receiving $5000, one year of free tennis coaching and a tennis lesson with Australian tennis champion Alicia Molik.
To enter in the competition, Al had to explain in 100 words why he wanted to be the MLC Tennis Hot Shot of the Year. This was his winning entry:
I should be 2012 Hot Shot because I am enthusiastic about tennis, always do my best at lessons and have positive attitudes. I read up on moves in my junior tennis book. I also don’t mind picking up balls with tennis tubes. I’m always polite and respectful to my coaches. I listen to their advice and try what they say. I also practice shots I’ve learnt on my brick wall at home. I might not be the next tennis champion, but I enjoy tennis lessons because they keep me fit, teach me skills and are awesome fun. Thank you, Al.
Entries for the competition are still open; players can enter here for their chance to win the MLC Tennis Hot Shot of the month prize and go in the running for the MLC Tennis Hot Shot of the Year award.
