Tennis Victoria is excited to announce the 12s and 14s State teams who will represent Victoria at the 2012 Optus 12s and 14s Australian Teams Championships.

Held during the December Showdown at Melbourne Park, Victoria will be represented by two teams in both age groups at the Championships.

“The 12s and 14s Teams events are unique events within the Australian annual tournament calendar,” said Tennis Victoria’s Player Development Coordinator and Team Manager Emily Rea.

“Similar to Junior Davis Cup and Fed Cup, these events allow the team manager to sit courtside and provide support and advice through the match to their players which can be hugely beneficial from both a coaches and players point of view.

“We are lucky to have two teams in all four events this year, which means we will have six Victoria players each age group who will have the opportunity to represent their state, while also developing their games at the same time.

Teams were selected based on a number of factors including Australian Ranking, head to head record and performances at National level competitions.

The 14s Championships will be held from 28 November-2 December, while the 12s (pictured) will be held from 10-14 December.
