13 April 2013 | Tennis Victoria

The stage is set for an epic men’s and women’s final of the Tennis Victoria Premier League to be played tomorrow at Glen Iris Valley Recreation Club.

On Friday night under lights at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, the home side was victorious in the men’s and women’s semifinal defeating Grace Park and Royal South Yarra Lawn respectively.  Played on the same night at MCC, the other semifinals saw Peter Luczak’s MCC demolish Waverley, while Delahey Recreation were strong winners over the MCC ladies.

The MCC Men’s team showed that they will be a force come finals day tomorrow following their defeat over Waverley.  In the absence of Zoe Hives the MCC women’s team wasn’t as successful as their male team mates, struggling to get on the board against Delahey Recreation who were too strong.  Viktorija Rajicic showed why she was the Ace Award winner for the competition defeating Eliza Long 6-2 6-0.

The other semifinals at Kooyong Lawn were a much tighter contest with Grace Park putting up a strong fight in the men’s draw while Royal South Yarra Lawn pushed the home side to a close win for the Kooyong Lawn women’s team.

The Tennis Victoria Premier League Finals will be played tomorrow, Sunday 14 April 2013 from 11:45am.  All are welcome to come and see what is sure to be a great day of high level tennis.
