The North Suburban Tennis Association (NSTA) were the toast of the tennis community on Monday night when five of their Volunteers were recognized by receiving Tennis Victoria Tennis Service Awards. The formal presentations were made at the Association’s bi-monthly Delegates meeting held at the Coburg Tennis Club. The Awards were presented by TennisVictoria’s Awards Director, Anne Baldwin, TV Vice-President, Maria Keys and TV Metro Associations Director, Peter Cuxson.
Never in the history of the Tennis Vic Service Awards have five awards been presented to members of the same tennis body at the same time.
The five Award Recipients were :
- Bill Caven
- Geoff Gordon
- George Kunti
- Derek Kew
- Colin Thompson
Bill, Geoff, George, Derek and Colin, all NSTA Life Members, have given the Association both outstanding service as well as making a significant impact on tennis in the Northern Suburbs. Their achievements include providing significant administrative support, meticulous record keeping, development of internal admin procedures, systems and computerisation of match results. All recipients have clearly dedicated much of their lives to volunteerism and between them over 130 years of service has been given to the game of tennis – and still counting. Congratulations to you all!
