Get ready Ararat and Horsham – the AO Blitz is coming to you!

A new tennis participation initiative, the AO Blitz, has been touring the country in recent weeks bringing the joy of the Australian Open to local towns across Australia. This weekend it is Ararat and Horsham’s turn.

The AO Blitz will visit Ararat today from 2:30pm – 4:30pm bringing the Australian Open trophies.

On Saturday, the AO Blitz will head to Horsham where it will see the physical celebration of the opening of the 28 brand new courts that have been built across six locations in the Horsham region this year. The courts were rebuilt as a result of flood damage that swept through the area in recent times. Through funds recieved from the National Disaster Fund, approximately $6million was spent across the region to bring the courts and community back together.

Horsham and Ararat have a great opportunity to start gaining points in the AO Blitz. By picking up a racquet and having a go at tennis, you will gain points that will help push your town up the leaderboard to potentiallysee your town being played for in the 2014 Australian Open. Imagine Rafael Nadal walking onto Rod Laver Arena representing Horsham!

So come along to the AO Blitz, have your photo taken with the trophies and get on court for your chance to win great prizes and hopefully have your town represented!
