8 November 2013 | Tennis Victoria

The 2013 Asia-Pacific Tennis League (ATL) Vic Conference’s highly anticipated first serve will be this Sunday 10 November at the home of the Kooyong Classics, Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club.

In what is sure to be a great start to the competition, both the Men’s and Women’s groups will play at the one venue to commence the 20 day tennis storm.

The ATL Vic Conference has eight club licence holders in the Men’s and Women’s groups comprising of the Delahey Reckers, Waverley Warriors, Dingley Dingoes, MCC Stars, RSY Royals, Kooyong Classics, Frankston Firebirds and the Tennis World Taipans.

The first round of the ATL will provide some great battles. Home side, the Kooyong Classics will take on the Waverley Warriors, while the MCC Stars will take on cross town rivals the RSY Royals in the Men’s and Women’s draw. The remaining battle in the Women’s draw will be between Tennis Victoria Premier League reigning champions and new team to the ATL competition, the Delahey Reckers, and last year’s Vic Conference Runners Up the Frankston Firebirds. The star studded line up of the Tennis World Taipans will take on the Dingley Dingoes in the Men’s draw.

Tennis Victoria’s Competitions Manager Jeff Downes is excited about the quality of the Vic Conference “The 2013 Vic Conference is set to explode thanks to our star studded line up of players who have signed up for the competition. On paper, the standard of the Vic Conference certainly measures up well against the other Conferences, and following the success of our own Liston Seagulls being crowned the ATL Playoff Champions back in January, we are confident of another strong season this year.”
