6 December 2013 | Tennis Victoria

Jaimee Fourlis (Preston) has won the Girls’ 14/u National Championships at the Tennis Australia December Showdown currently being played at Melbourne Park.

Defeating Violet Apisah (New South Wales) in the final 6-0 6-1, Fourlis also went on to win the Doubles title. Pairing with Petra Hule (South Australia) the girls won 6-3 4-6 10-4 over Maria Vais and Gabriella Da Silva-Fick (NSW).

Completing a very rare triple champion achievement, Jaimee has repeated her achievements of early 2012 when she was the 12/u National Singles and Doubles Champion on natural grass at Mildura. She also won the 14/u National Singles and Doubles title on clay in Ipswich in mid-2013 which has shown her ability to succeed across all three tournament surfaces.

Jaimee, who currently trains at the National Academy in Melbourne is a product of both State and National player development programs.

Congratulations to Jaimee and her coaching team of Vince Dattoli, Mark Hlawaty and Marija Mirkovic.
