Tennis Victoria is excited to announce the teams selected for the upcoming 2014 Tennis Victoria Premier League (TVPL) men’s and women’s competitions commencing on Monday 10 March.

Following the success of the 2013 competition, interest spiked considerably with more applications received than for places available.  This is a great indicator of where the TVPL now sits in the tennis community.

In the men’s competition team licenses have been granted to the Country All Stars, Dingley Tennis Club, Grace Park Tennis Club,  Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club,  MCC Tennis and Waverley Tennis.

The women’s competition will feature Delahey Recreation, Dendy Park Tennis Club, Grace Park Lawn Tennis Club, Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, MCC Tennis and Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club.

The talent across the competition is a real highlight in what promises to be a prestigious month of quality tennis with the first serve scheduled on Monday 10 March. Super Rounds are back again in 2014 with the men’s teams converging as one for Round 1 at Dingley and the women’s competition commencing at Dendy Park.

Tennis Victoria’s Competitions Manager Jeff Downes is excited about the upcoming competition “Last year some significant changes were made to the competition with the inclusion of prize money, a reduction in the team size, tweaks with match format, Super Rounds and the inclusion of the Men’s Country All Stars. Following these successes we are really looking forward to another showcase month of quality tennis. Certainly in both the men’s and women’s competitions our 2013 champions Kooyong Lawn TC and Delahey Recreation respectively, will have their work cut out for them in going back to back. There appears to be a number of clubs who will challenge for the $4000 winning cheque after a busy off season of recruiting.”
