The team nominations are now open for Tennis Victoria Premier League (TVPL) which will commence on Saturday 14 March and Tennis Victoria Pennant which will commence on the weekend of Saturday 2 May.
TVPL is a prestigious month of inter club play with the scheduled competition dates aiming to attract ITF Pro Tour Players and AMT Platinum and Gold standard players. It is an integral part of the Tennis Victoria Competition Pathway.
Underlining the standing of the TVPL competition in the tennis community Tennis Victoria is excited to announce an increase in prize money for the 2015 season with the winners of both the men’s and women’s competitions set to receive $5000 and the runner up $2000.
Tennis Victoria Competitions Manager Jeff Downes is looking forward to the TVPL competition, “ we made a number of enhancements to the competition a couple of years ago with the inclusion of prize money, playing all matches at the one venue with Super Rounds, and a shorter match format with smaller teams required. The increase in standard over the past 2 years has been very noticeable and the competition is continuing to become more attractive to ITF Pro Tour and AMT Platinum/Gold players which is important. The Country All Stars teams are also a very important component of the competition, providing a pathway for country players to higher level competition, and we look forward to their continued development”.
Tennis Victoria Pennant team nominations will close at midnight Wednesday 11 March. Tennis Victoria is offering clubs some attractive incentives in 2015 to continue to increase team numbers in Australia’s largest inter-club competition.
