Tennis Victoria Premier League is back in 2015 with new teams, new players and more prize money.  In a boon for the competition, three new teams have joined the League in 2015. Mornington Tennis Centre, Beaumaris Lawn Tennis Club and Bundoora Tennis Club enter the competition for the first time as they join stalwart clubs Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, MCC Tennis, Dendy Park Tennis Club, Grace Park Hawthorn Club, Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club and the Country All Stars.

Reigning Premiers Grace Park return in the hope of going back to back, lead by Australian No.15 Dane Propoggia. Propoggia together with last year’s leading player in James Lemke will push for success for Grace Park Hawthorn Club again. The Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club ladies team will hope that young gun and Australian Female Junior Athlete of the Year winner, Destanee Aiava, together with Pro Tour player Sally Peers will help lead them to success again in 2015.

Tennis Victoria’s Nick Hinneberg said “It is great to see the emergence of new clubs and teams entering this seasons’ Premier League competition. The opportunity for a wide variety of clubs to test their strength against more established powerhouse clubs, really makes for some interesting match-ups – and all for the tennis public to enjoy.”

A bumper opening round weekend sees the first round of the Tennis Victoria Premier League played on Saturday 14 March with round 2 on Sunday 15 March. The women’s first round will be played at Mornington Tennis Centre (350 Dunns Road, Mornington) commencing at 1pm. The men’s first round will be played at the home of the reigning champions, Grace Park Lawn Tennis Club (6 Hilda Crescent, Hawthorn) from 1pm.

Round 2 will take the women’s competition to Dendy Park (Breen Drive, East Brighton) and the men’s competition will be played at Bundoora Tennis Club (Telfer Reserve, Greenwood Drive, Bundoora) with all matches starting at 1pm.
