Tennis Victoria was today to pleased to see a number of our community tennis clubs rewarded with grants as part of VicHealth’s Active Club Grants program.

The Active Club Grants recognise the important role local clubs and organisations play in increasing physical activity and helping communities stay connected. The grants of up to $3000 each will help local clubs reach out to new participants and fund items or equipment to help them improve safety.

Clubs could apply for the grants to purchase sports injury prevention and management equipment such as first aid kits, or essential sporting equipment such as uniforms, racquets and balls.

Minister for Sport, John Eren said “Whether it’s for essential equipment like bats, portable goals, uniforms and balls, or items to prevent or manage injuries, it’s great to see so many clubs across Victoria benefit from these grants. These grants not only promote sports and physical activity, they also support that real sense of community that comes from being part of a local club.”

The second round of grants was announced today. Below is a list of all affiliated Victorian tennis clubs who have received funding in 2014/15.
