2015 John Fitzgerald Cup
The latest Tennis Victoria’s Regional Teams Event headed to Wodonga at the weekend, with the North East Country region hosting the 2015 John Fitzgerald Cup.
After finishing on top of their respective Groups, Barwon 5-46 def Central Gippsland 1-23 in the final.
In the 3rd and 4th Playoff, Central Highlands 5-45 def Loddon Campaspe 1-23.
The event, for 13/u boys from the 11 Victorian country regions, was played in a round robin format with ties consisting of two boys’ doubles and four singles rubbers involving all of the four players from each team.
Four players from the event will now be selected to represent Country Victoria at the Foundation Cup Interstate Challenge in Melbourne in January.
Tennis Victoria’s prestigious Regional Team Events showcase emerging junior talent and provides players with the opportunity to represent their region in a team environment.
