Brian Capalnean (Gladstone Park Tennis Club) and Natarsha Maljkovic (Glencairn Tennis Club) have claimed the Tennis Victoria Junior Development Series State Hardcourt Championship on Sunday.

Hume Tennis and Community Centre hosted the 14 young tennis stars, with eight boys and six girls playing off in two pools on the day.

Brian, 10 and Hussain Sami played off for the boys title, with Brian coming out on top 6-2. Brian lost just 5 games overall and can now look forward to competing in Junior Tour events in the coming months.

Natarsha, 12 overcame Erin Stojcevski 6-1 in what was a fantastic tussle and one of many sure to come between the pair.

Congratulations to all participants, this event certainly showcased the next wave of players coming through the tournament pathway.
