Proving too strong for their country rivals, Melbourne’s Waverley Tennis Association 26-176 defeated the Eastern Region 6-85 in the Tennis Victoria Associations and Regional Teams Challenge at the weekend.

Played across two days at the Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club, the second Regional Teams Event for 2016 showcased mixed junior teams across four age groups from Tennis Victoria Metropolitan Associations and Country Regions.

Finishing on top of their respective pools, Waverley Tennis got out to a strong start in the final, running away with the champions trophy.

North Eastern Junior Tennis Association 18-129 defeated local team South West 14-116 in the Playoff for third place.
