The Victorian School Sports Awards were presented at the Members Dining Room at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Tuesday, March 15 with some great results for Victorian Tennis.
Ruby Rothman (Maryborough Education Centre), Jasmin Starr (Box Hill Senior Secondary College) and Erik Holt-Crossman (Echuca College) were awarded a Sporting Blue Award.
Ruby regularly represented Central Highlands at Tennis Victoria events including the Wayne Arthurs Cup, Frank Sedgman Cup and the Foundation Cup. Ruby was also a member of the Team Vic Bruce Cup team that won silver at Tennis Australia/School Sport Australia’s Bruce Cup.
Jasmin has twice been a member of the under 19 Victorian Pizzey Cup Team and was chosen for the All Australian Merit Team. She has twice been a quarter finalist in the under 19 Australia Cup and has represented Victoria at the Bruce Cup and the Australian Team Championships.
Erik’s team won the premiership for the Echuca Lawn Tennis Club in the Greater Goulbourn competition. He made it into the Victorian Pizzey Cup team in 2015 and was selected for the All Australian Team as well as being runner-up in the Tennis Australia Cup.
