MCC Tennis and Kooyong Lawn have  booked themselves a Finals berth after convincing wins against Mornington and Dingleyin the women’s and men’s Preliminary Finals respectively.

MCC Tennis, led by rising Victorian Jaimee Fourlis and the experienced Genevieve Lorbergs and Bojana Bobusic, signalled to their Grand Final opponent Liston, that this will be an epic final and appear to be peaking at the right time of the season.

Last year’s runner up, Kooyong Lawn in the men’s league set up a repeat of last years Final with a determined victory over the youthful Dingley outfit. Kooyong Lawn’s Andrew Whittington continued his rich vein of form after recent back to back ITF Pro Tour event wins to steer them to victory despite some fierce and determined play from Dingley’s unheralded youngsters in Fedja Bilic, Long Nguyen and Omar Fields. It will be an intriguing Final and Kooyong Lawn look well prepared to stop Grace Park Hawthorn from a potential three peat.

The men’s and women’s Finals will both be played at Glen Iris Valley Rec TC on Saturday 9 April commencing at 1:00pm. In one of the highlights of the Tennis Victoria yearly calender there will also be the presentations of the Ace Award for the best performed player in the men’s and women’s leagues and also the announcement of the inaugural Paul Arber Memorial Award winning player from both the men’s and women’s leagues.

Another showcase part of the day will be the ANZ Hot Shots League State Gala Day with  the next generation of tennis stars playing at the venue standing side by side with the state’s best players  throughout the afternoon on this prestigious day.
