Tennis Victoria were happy to award Mrs Kathy Rehe with the Tennis Service Award recently as a show of gratitude for her dedication and commitment to tennis over multiple decades.
As an Executive Committee member of the Midweek Eastern Metropolitan Region Ladies’ Tennis Association Incorporated (MEMRLTA) for 40 consecutive years, Kathy has held a number of positions within the club, such as president, vice-president, general committee member, treasurer and secretary.
When Kathy joined the committee, the Association managed 57 clubs, consisting of 328 teams across 33 sections. In a time where technology wasn’t available, the workload was arduous, but Kathy got the job done.
Despite battling health problems in 2010, Kathy’s contribution never wavered, working as a secretary and then vice-president for the Association. A life member of MEMRLTA, Kathy is the heartbeat of the Association due to her outstanding dedication and knowledge of various laws and rules relating to tennis.
Combined with this, Kathy has also been a member of the Doncaster Tennis Club for more than 40 years, highlighting her incredible passion for tennis and helping others, making Kathy a deserving recipient of the Tennis Service Award.
The Tennis Service Award recognises those who have demonstrated their contribution to the sport of tennis through devoted and significant service to any one or more of the State Tennis Associations’ affiliated tennis clubs and/or associations and/or member organisations.
