The 2016 Tennis Victoria Pennant season will conclude this weekend with the playing of the Men’s Grade 5,6,7,8 Grade Grand Finals at Dendy Park Tennis Club, and the Women’s Grade 4 Grand Final at Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club.
The 2016 Pennant season has seen approximately 14,000 rubbers played across Metropolitan Melbourne this winter with all clubs looking to win the ultimate prize of a Tennis Victoria Pennant.
Jeff Downes, Tennis Victoria Competitions Manager, has been thrilled with the finals series.
“The 2016 finals series has been enormous and a great success with clubs battling it out for the historic and prestigious pennant titles. It has been great to see such a large diversity of clubs competing in the finals series and also great to see such a large number of different clubs taste success. After this weekend, we will have almost 18 different clubs claiming a Tennis Victoria Pennant title from the 21 Grade Grand Finals played across all our competition categories.
“It has been great to see that the atmosphere has been terrific at all of our Grand Final venues over the past few weeks,” said Downes.
