Tennis Victoria are pleased to announce the state teams who will be representing Victoria at the Australian Teams Championships, which will be played at Melbourne Park during Tennis Australia’s December Showdown from the 9-12 December, 2016.

The Victorian Regional State Team for the 2017 Fed Cup Foundation Interstate Challenge, to be played in Adelaide from 8-13 January, has also been selected.

“It’s a credit to all of the players selected on a fantastic year, and these events will be really valuable experience for our younger up-and-coming Victoria players,” said Tennis Victoria Player Development Coordinator Emily Rea.

The Australian Teams Championships will see teams play against some of the most talented players from around Australia as well as several international teams from Asia Pacific in the 12/u and 14/u events.

Victoria also had six players selected to compete in the event as part of the Tennis Australia ‘All Stars’ team.

Victoria have had great success in the events in the past, with the 12/u boys team crowned Australian Team Champions in 2015, while the 13/u girls are title holders of the Fed Cup Foundation Interstate Challenge.
