Victorian youngster James O’Sullivan’s was recently nominated for the WestVic Athlete of the Year, just missing out on the award.
Arriving on the scene in 2013 as an enthusiastic 10-year-old, O’Sullivan was selected to participate in the Super 10’s team competition. That same year, he then represented the Central Highlands country region in the Wayne Arthurs Cup at the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club.
Fast forward to 2017, O’Sullivan is now 14 years old and recently achieved his highest Australian Ranking of 726 and has a number of accomplishments under his belt.
His highlights include: winning the 14/U Boys’ Singles title at the 2017 Taylors Lakes 14’s Winter Blast and being selected to play the 2017 Fed Cup Foundation Interstate Challenge State Team Event in Adelaide, South Australia.
Winning the 2016 13/U Boys’ John Fitzgerald Cup regional team event, and competing at the 14/U National Grasscourt Championships in South Australia are also on the growing list of achievements.
The WestVic Athlete of the Year award was presented at an awards night hosted by the Ballarat Sportsmens Club at the Ballarat Golf Club.
