Well done to our Victorian’s for their recent success on court
Juniors selected to represent Victoria or Australia in prestigious team’s events:
- Ken Cavrak represented Australia in the 16/u Junior Davis Cup team that competed in the World Group Finals in Budapest, Hungary. The Australian boy’s team finished in 9th
Victorian’s who performed at Grand Slams:
- John Peers made the Semi-finals of the US Open Men’s Doubles
- Arina Rodionova won the Women’s Wildcard Play-off and then won her first round at the US Open (her equal best Grand Slam singles performance)
Victorian’s who won at ITF Tournaments (Wheelchair, Open & Seniors), WTA or ATP level events:
- John Peers won the ATP 500 Beijing and ATP 1000 Shanghai Masters doubles titles
- Daria Gavrilova won her first WTA level singles title at the New Haven WTA Premier event
- Heath Davidson won the Birmingham Canadian Wheelchair Tennis Classic Singles title and also came Runner Up at the USTA Wheelchair Championships Men’s Singles
- Andrew Harris won the $25,000 QTC Brisbane ITF Futures singles title
- Jaimee Fourlis won the Prince George’s County International Hard Court Junior Tennis Championships, Grade 1 Junior ITF singles and Doubles titles.
- Riley Dumsday won the Wheelchair Quad Canberra Open ITF Futures Series Singles event
- Jacob Grills won the $15,000 ITF Futures F6 Singles title in Thailand
- Olivia Rogowska won the $25,000 Penrith & Cairns ITF Futures events Singles titles
- Dayne Kelly won the $25,000 ITF Futures Singles title in Cairns, QLD
- Isabelle Wallace won the $25,000 Koksijde ITF Futures Singles title in Belgium
Victorian juniors who won at ITF Junior Tournaments, State or National events:
- Alex Bulte won his first singles title at the ITF Junior G5 Canberra International in ACT
- Cooper White won the doubles title at the ITF Junior G5 Canberra International in ACT and then won the 14/u Boys Claycourt National Singles and Doubles titles also held in the ACT
- Roisin Gilheany won the Girls 12/u Claycourt National Doubles title in the ACT
- Stami Arthur won the Boys 12/u Claycourt National Doubles title in the ACT
- Brian Capalnean won the Boys 12/u Claycourt National Doubles title in the ACT
Other outstanding Victorian achievements:
- Thomas Bosancic, Ken Cavrak, Matthew Dellavedova, Destanee Aiava, Jaimee Fourlis and Jeanette Lin were all nominated for Junior Athlete of the Year Awards, which will be announced at the Tennis Victoria Champions Dinner in October.
