Central Gippsland will be looking to complete a hatrick at the 2018 17/u Minter McNamee Cup, to be held this weekend at Melbourne Park, home of the Australian Open.

Some of the most talented 17-year-old girls and boys from around country Victoria will assemble on the plexi-cushion hardcourt venue for two days. 44 players from the 10 country regions of Victoria will be participating in the round-robin event.

The Minter McNamee Cup is one of several annual Regional Teams events held each year. Regional Team Events are held across Victoria each year for teams from both metropolitan associations and from our 11 country regions. These prestigious team events showcase emerging junior talent and provide players with the opportunity to represent their region in a team environment. The selection of athletes for each team is based on merit and the individual selection processes within each association and region.

Teams will play four rounds on Saturday with the Final Round and Final’s to be played on Sunday.
Players will be welcomed and treated to a special talk from Former Fed Cup Captain and Australian Tennis tennis great, Anne Minter. The event was renamed in 2016 in recognition of the outstanding achievements and contribution to junior tennis of Ms Anne Minter and Mr Paul McNamee.
