Greensborough, 17 December 2018 | Sean Munaweera
Greensborough Tennis Club has a proud tradition of serving the community since 1923. Throughout the club’s history there have been many long serving and pivotal members. These individuals step up and selflessly offer their time to promote tennis.
Jan has been the Club Secretary for 12 years, since 2006. Such long service has ensured a continuity which is rarely seen in business let alone community organisations.
Jan has been instrumental in the club’s engagement with local council, especially and most recently around the clubs very detailed response to their proposed Tennis Strategy. She has also worked tirelessly to maintain club records on the Tennis Australia database and provided much positive feedback to the team. Her steady influence and common-sense approach has helped the club thrive.
Jan has also been an anchor to the women’s teams on court having represented the club for more years than she would care to mention. She has shown strong leadership in the development of women’s tennis within the club providing ideas on how to grow women’s participation – a pivotal objective for Greensborough Tennis Club.
Congratulations Jan and thank you for your contribution to tennis in Victoria.
