Tennis Victoria is delighted to share the good news of tennis being featured prominently for this year’s Victorian Sport Awards.
Every year the Victorian Sport Awards aims to honour ‘those who have made an outstanding contribution to sport in Victoria as individual or team athletes, coaches, administrators and volunteers from both metropolitan and regional areas in Victoria’.
In 2018, Victorian tennis has seen some outstanding achievements and the below finalists should be extremely proud of their efforts:
- Dylan Alcott – Victorian Male Athlete of the Year
- Destanee Aiava – Victorian Young Athlete of the Year
- Glenn Busby – Masters Athlete of the Year
- Vicky Lee – Community Coach of the Year
Congratulations to these wonderful ambassadors for our sport and we wish them all the very best.
Tennis Victoria Country Week has also been recognised as a finalist in the Victorian Community Sporting Event of the Year.
This event is widely regarded as the greatest community sporting event in the world and 2018 marked the first year Tennis Victoria took over operations. Engaging more than 1000 players, local businesses and the wider community become engrossed in this highly entertaining event, which has been running for 70+ years.
The awards will be presented on Wednesday 20 February 2019 at Marvel Stadium.
