31 January 2019 | Tennis Victoria
On Thursday January 17th, in conjunction with ANZ and Tennis Australia, the 2019 ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Day was run during the Australian Open.
This initiative was aimed at rewarding 22 regional and remote clubs within Victoria whom undertake the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Community Play program. The program is designed to be delivered by club volunteers. It aims to give an excellent first tennis experience in a fun, friendly and welcoming environment, for young players that would not normally be able to access the program as their local club does not have a qualified tennis coach.
Over 1,000 participants attended the day with some clubs leaving as early as 5am in the morning to ensure they’d make it on time for the day.
All the ANZ Hot Shots kids were provided with an ANZ Hot Shots shirt and cap before having their photo taken with ANZ ambassadors Dylan Alcott and Alicia Molik, which will be no doubt now be scattered across the club rooms of the regional Victorian clubs who participated.
Tennis Victoria would like to thank all the club participant and coordinators of the event for making this event.
