The upcoming Victorian Community Tennis Forum is fast approaching and the topic of the night will be ‘Creating a Great Club/Coach Environment’, with a particular focus on How encouraging a more human and empathetic relationship between Club and Coach is a Win-Win.
Joining us on the night will be Ian Sandbrook from Sport for Good Consulting. Mr Sandbrook has already conducted presentations during a Tennis Australia Club Development roadshow, with many clubs adopting some of his insights.
He will aim to provide attendees with the tools to enable their clubs to flourish though a series of case studies and learnings from his extensive sport development experience.
Many people that have attended his workshops have got a lot out of it – see some of the testimonials below:
“I found the Ian Sandbrook workshop on creating a great club/coach relationship to be invaluable. It highlighted the importance of open communication between a club and coach and working together to create a positive club culture,” Yvonne Fantin – Topseed Tennis
“Ian provided a thought provoking view of who our customers are, what motivates them and how we as a club engage them. This prompted our club to embark on hosting a forum of our own to understand our customers’ wants and needs – that is our members, volunteers, parents – effectively anyone using/visiting our facilities. The feedback and input we received was overwhelming. Rather than the 1 or 2 who do everything, we have tapped into a wealth of energy and support and ideas to set our priorities for the next 5 years,” Ray Reymers – Coburg TC
“I thought the workshop was valuable to get an insight into other coaches’ challenges and successes in regards to dealing with their committees. We were also challenged to think about our club/coach relationships from a committee member perspective. One memorable aspect discussed was a successful club experience needed to be about a sense of fun and belonging,” Leanne Melgaard – Sure Shot Tennis
