Tennis Victoria is pleased to announce the venues for Country Week in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
With the 2020 edition of the famous event to be held in Wodonga in February 2020 and hosted by the Wodonga Tennis Centre, it is now time to announce the venues for the following three years.
Country Week welcomes more than 1200+ participants each year to a regional location in Country Victoria. At the most recent edition held in Shepparton / Mooroopna, 1237 players took to the lawn tennis courts, both permanent and temporary across a week of competitive and social tennis.
Host partners of Country Week must be able to provide a minimum of 95 grass courts at the host venue – a feature of Country Week that makes it quite unique.
After an extensive tender process, three venues have applied and been awarded the rights to host this prestigious event.
The host venues for 2021 – 2023 are as follows:
Sunday 14 February to Friday 19 February 2021 | Swan Hill Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club |
Sunday 13 February to Friday 18 February 2022 | Shepparton Lawn & Mooroopna Lawn Tennis Clubs together with Greater Shepparton City Council |
Sunday 12 February to Friday 17 February 2023 | Wodonga Tennis Centre together with City of Wodonga |
Upon making the announcement, Tennis Victoria CEO Ruth Holdaway MBE said, “I’m delighted to announce these outstanding venues as the future hosts of Tennis Victoria Country Week. Country Week is a highlight of the tennis calendar in Victoria; showcasing talent from across the state and injecting an estimated $3m into the local economy of our beautiful host areas. Tennis Victoria looks forward to working closely with these great venues and their supporting partners to ensure Country Week continues to thrive, providing fun, social connection and great tennis experiences for all our participants and spectators.”
