4 March 2021 | Tennis Victoria
Tennis Victoria currently has a vacancy for one of its two club/affiliate representatives on its Nominations Committee for 2021.
This vacancy has been created due to one of the founding appointments to the TV Nominations Committee, Adam Cossar from Kooyong LTC, standing down from the role after 7 years of exemplary service. Tennis Victoria’s Board wishes to sincerely thank Adam for his significant contribution to the Nominations Committee since 2014.
For information on the purpose and annual role of the TV Nominations Committee please find its Charter as TV By-Law 13 here. You will note at clause 13.3. c) ii) that such a person needs to be a member of a Tennis Body (club, centre or association) with experience in corporate governance and/or human resources.
The prime role of the Nominations Committee is to assist the voting affiliates of Tennis Victoria to ensure that the composition of their Board of Directors has an appropriate mix of relevant skills and diversity on an ongoing basis.
If there is anybody at your club, centre or association that you may wish to nominate to fill this voluntary role, Expressions of Interest are now open and close at 5pm on Friday 26 March.
Expressions of interest should be sent to Tim McGrath, TV Company Secretary, via [email protected] and be in the form of a one-page cover letter, supported by a one-page resume, and include a letter of endorsement from the individual’s Tennis Body.
The TV Board of Directors will then consider and decide on this 2021 appointment, in conjunction with advice received from the independent chair of the Nominations Committee.
For information, over an annual cycle of work from May through to September, the commitment of a Nominations Committee member during business hours:
– Generally equates to one or two meetings of up to 2 hours;
– The conducting of Director candidate interviews, if required; and
– Some additional Committee work over the email in regard to the preparation of key documents for the Board and affiliates. The current members of the TV Nominations Committee are as follows:
