When thinking of Junior Tennis in the Eastern Region, it’s hard not to think of Cynthia McKenzie.
On Saturday 13 March at her home club Heathmont Tennis Club,
Cynthia was recognised for her exemplary service to tennis with a Highly
Commended Service Award.
Cynthia joined the Eastern Region Tennis (ERT) Committee in 2002/2003 and became the Junior Record Secretary just 12 months later, a role in which she has excelled for 17 years.
Without Cynthia, the ERT Junior and Senior competitions
could not have been run as successfully as they were.
Cynthia is a fantastic ambassador for tennis in general. She
is passionate, understanding and nothing is ever too much trouble. She is
described by her fellow volunteers as an absolute pleasure to work with.
After being presented with the award by Tennis Victoria Club Development Office Danielle Cornwall, Cynthia said ‘I want to thank Tennis Victoria for this award. It was such a surprise and an honour and it has pride of place in my home’.
Thank you, Cynthia, for your contribution to tennis in
Victoria, and congratulations, you’re a very deserving recipient of this
award.
