Tennis Victoria recognises that energy bills are a significant cost to tennis venues, and night play under lights is a critical part of a tennis venue’s activities. We want to ensure that our affiliates are well placed to be sustainable and viable in the face of a changing natural environment.
As such, Tennis Victoria has partnered with the Australian Energy Foundation to measure the energy consumption of tennis across Victoria and develop a range of strategies that venues of all sizes can implement to reduce their usage costs and thus reduce their environmental impact. In addition, the data collected through this project will assist Tennis Victoria to advocate to government for funding for Tennis towards sustainability projects (such as solar panels and LED lighting).
