7 October 2021 | Tennis Victoria
We have watched with joy as the Victorian tennis community returned to the court over the past week. Members at Sale and Cudgewa tennis clubs were greeted with upgrades to their facilities upon their return to play.
The new facilities at Cudgewa Tennis Club recently completed courtesy of the Victorian Government Bushfire Relief funding. The work done by Total Sport and Floor included a full resheet acrylic surface and LED lights.
Not to be outdone, Sale Tennis Club has unveiled their 12 new red porous courts – 4 of them international size – laid by ET Richards & Sons.
Works included a revamped clubhouse, new fencing, paths and LED lighting. The redevelopment commenced in 2018, and was funded by the La Trobe Valley Authority, Sport & Recreation Victoria, Wellington Shire Council, Tennis Australia and the Sale Tennis Club.
Sale Tennis Club President Robin Lowe is excited to celebrate see the fruits of the club’s labor.
“It’s been an exercise in patience… and very much been an exercise in relationship management which has been critical as part of that process.”
“The excitement around the completion of the redevelopment is amazing. Our Junior program, in a pandemic and against national trends, has actually increased the number of junior teams and the number of junior players that we’ve got signed up for Saturday mornings. So there is a buzz around the place… isn’t it exciting to actually finally get on our courts and be able to use the whole facility.”
“It does look like a serious tennis complex!”
Tennis Victoria is also pleased to announce the addition of Court Technology Victoria (CTV) to our Technical Advisory Service program.
The Technical Advisory Service provides access to the latest technical information, planning, design and project management services for tennis clubs and Councils.
