Williamstown Bayside Tennis Centre warmly invites all members of the community to their Lo/No Vision Come and Try day this Sunday, April 3rd from 10am to 12pm.
The day is open to the entire community, including all levels of vision loss, ages and standards.
Following on from a successful coach education session delivered by Tennis Victoria Coaching Leader Jon Watson, Williamstown Bayside is seeking expressions of interest for the delivery of a Blind and Low Vision Tennis Program in the Hobsons Bay Community.
The Williamstown coaches donned simulation glasses which allow wearers to experience four different eye conditions. These glasses will also be available for the community to try this Sunday, as well as having a hit with some of the local blind tennis athletes.
Local resident Robert Fletcher currently works with coach James Wong on a weekly basis, and has been a key driver in the creation of the Blind and Low Vision program. Rob speaks highly of the benefits of his coaching session with James – noting changes in his health, balance and general wellbeing after taking up tennis.
