8 September 2022 | Tennis Victoria

Dear Victorian Tennis Community,

Welcome to the September edition of the Tennis Victoria News.

Congratulations to our Victorian athletes who have competed in New York across the last two weeks at the US Open including Jaimee Fourlis and Daria Saville in the Women’s Singles, Heath Davidson in the Wheelchair Quad Singles and Saalim Naser in the Junior Wheelchair Singles.

Additionally, a great effort from Victorian Matthew Dellavedova who has reached an ITF final for the first time in Monastir, Tunisia and Omar Jasika who made the final of the Nonthaburi ATP Challenger in Bangkok, Thailand.

Closer to home, after an interruption of the last two seasons we wish everyone the best of luck playing in Tennis Victoria Pennant Grand Finals this Saturday at Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club and Dendy Park Tennis Club.

Turning our attention off court, we are excited to confirm the details for the 2022 Victorian Tennis Awards. The awards will be held at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club on Thursday October 27 from 7pm. The event will be staged in-person and available to view online. Thank you to everyone that nominated for awards, I look forward to seeing the finalists announced next week.

Congratulations to our monthly award winners, including our Community Champion of the Month, Nicole Bauer from Bionic Tennis Coaching in Gippsland and our Affiliate of the Month, Kilmore Tennis Club. You can read more about our champions in this month’s Tennis Victoria News.
