Congratulations to the December 2022 Affiliate of the Month, the Donald Lawn Tennis Club.

Supporting the community is what they excel at especially when the club recently hosted a very successful tennis fundraiser for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Victoria in order to acknowledge the forty plus years of service that Tony Goode has made to the North Central Tennis Association as a player, administrator and office-holder.

In perfect weather for tennis, five tennis clubs from Birchip, Charlton, Donald, Nullawil and St Arnaud entered a total of 81 players in the two singles championships and doubles competition. It was great to see Tony and his immediate and extended family be able to attend for a few hours to both socialise and play tennis with some old and new opponents.

The highlight of the day for many was the Big Freeze slide. Eight sliders volunteered to slide into some very cold water to raise over $3,000.

With the slide, raffles and community donations, over $4,000 for MND Victoria was raised for the day which was a fantastic achievement from everyone.

The whole event was a true community effort with many local businesses contributing and many people helping to make the day such a success.

We love to see Tennis Clubs supporting their community both on and off the court, and the Donald Lawn Tennis Club has provided a great occasion for their community while raising funds for such a good cause.
