Our Victorian’s have shown their strength in what has been an extremely successful last few days.

With Victorian’s represented across most of the draw, it has been an exciting finals for the competitions.

In the Juniors, Cooper Errey teamed up with Queenslander Marcus Schoeman to make it all the way to the Semi Finals.

Up against the number one seeds Blockx and Fonseca, Cooper and Marcus proved they were competitive for the entire match, going down in a close batter 5-7 6-7.

In the Junior Girls Doubles, Stefani Webb and Roisin Gilheany played their Quarterfinal match against the fourth seeded pair from Japan, Kinoshita and Saito.

In a third set tie breaker, the pair fell short 6-2 2-6 8-10. The Victorian girls had an incredible run, proving their strength as Wildcards.

Heath teamed up with Robert Shaw in the Quad Wheelchair Doubles and were up against the number one seeded Sam Schroder and Niels Vink. Schroder and Vink were too strong for the Aussie pair, winning 6-0 6-1.

In the Men’s Doubles, Victorian John Peers and Andreas Mies from Germany played their quarter-final match on Thursday at Kia Arena against eighth seeded Granollers and Zeballos.

In a 2 hour 24 minute match, Peers and Mies unfortunately weren’t strong enough for the eighth seeds, falling short 4-6 7-6 2-6.

Marc Polmans competed in the Semi Final in the Mixed Doubles with Olivia Gadecki at Rod Laver Arena. Unfortunately the Brazillian pair were too strong in the end, winning in a tie-break 4-6 6-4 11-9.

Polmans had an incredible run, achieving an equal best Australian Open result in the Mixed Doubles.

Our Victorian’s have had an incredible successful Australian Open tournament and we look forward to seeing them in action for the rest of the 2023 season.
