Congratulations to Daryl Bennett of the Yarrawonga Lawn Tennis Club who is the Community Champion of the Month for February 2023.   

Daryl is the President of Yarrawonga Lawn Tennis Club and has made a significant impact at the club and in the community since his Presidency over five years ago.  

Over the last few weeks, Daryl was working overtime to ensure that Tennis Victoria Country Week 2023 was as successful as it was. 

In Early December 2022, Yarrawonga Lawn Tennis Club offered to host Country Week after the devastating floods affected the region of Shepparton, the original host venue. 

Daryl and the team at Yarrawonga worked extremely hard to get the venue up and running with only eight weeks’ notice. 

Daryl’s commitment to the club has been exceptional, working tirelessly to ensure the club is run to a high standard at all times. Daryl spent from sunrise to sunset every day of Country Week at the club ensuring the grass courts, facilities, bar and surroundings was in good condition, as well as many long days and nights prior to the event too. 

Country Week could not have happened in 2023 without the hard-work and cooperation employed by Daryl.  

The work at the club does not stop, with a tremendous amount of work put into the 2023 Yarrawonga Easter Tournament. The tournament entries closed after less than 36 hours due to the sheer volume of players wanting to be part of it.
