7 March 2023 | Tennis Victoria

Farewell to what was a fantastic Summer of Tennis in Victoria.

We had a brilliant week in Yarrawonga in February for Tennis Victoria Country Week. Over 1300 players took to the 101 natural grasscourts to play in the biggest grasscourt tennis tournament in the world. We inducted four new Tennis Victoria Legends and celebrated many of the Humans of Country Week throughout the event. Thank you to Yarrawonga Lawn Tennis Club, Moira Shire Council and Yarrawonga Mulwala Tourism for their support of this event. Congratulations to all participants and we can’t wait to see you next year in Wodonga.

More recently it was great to see the Swan Hill Lawn Tennis Club hosting two International Pro Tour tennis events. Congratulations to everyone involved at the club for hosting these important events on the tennis calendar.

Well done to all the participating regions and associations that competed in the recent  Pat Cash Cup, and congratulations to Bayside TA for winning. Thank you to the Horsham Lawn Tennis Club and the Horsham Rural City Council for hosting this important event on our competitive play calendar.

As we move into Autumn, we direct our focus now to building capacity and delivery quality education opportunities across the state through the Thriving Tennis Tour 2023. After a successful Thriving Tennis Tour last year, we are excited to head to Geelong, Bendigo, Shepparton, Traralgon and Melbourne to deliver a variety of education and networking opportunities. All information, event agendas and links to register are available on our website.

Tennis Victoria Pennant and State Grade entries have now closed and we look forward to a huge winter of competition. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for some exciting announcements to come.

Until next time,
