Margaret was presented her award by Tennis Victoria’s Regional Tennis Manager – Metro Inner and North West, Stephanie Eshak.
Margaret is currently the Club Secretary at the Epping Tennis Club and has also held the Club Treasurer position for over a decade.
Margaret has been the glue that holds Epping Tennis Club’s committee together, has served on the club’s executive committee since 1998. Margaret has been a member of the club for over 30 years and in that time has been the driving force in the modernisation of the club.
Described as incredibly professional, enthusiastic and energetic, Margaret has contributed heavily to the club over a long period of time in many ways. Most notably is her support, involvement and promotion of tennis programs that entice females to play and stay in tennis both socially and competitively. She has also been involved in programs encouraging schools, the local community and multi-cultural residents to get involved in tennis.
Further, Margaret has introduced and organised the installation of the club’s on-line booking system, which increased club membership and court usage, created a brand and identity for the club by utilising professional signage and posters, and promoted the club by taking advantage of all promotional opportunities in the local area to showcase Epping Tennis Club.
Margaret has also set up and organized two Let’s Challenge tournaments for four local clubs using Tournament Planner for online entry to ensure entries from all over Melbourne. She also has applied for many grants on behalf of the club, including a successful application for funding the creation of a professional Strategic Plan to ensure long term growth and sustainability for the Epping Tennis Club.
