We are excited to announce the teams competing in the State Grade competition for 2023.

Recently Tennis Victoria announced that State Grade was returning to Tennis Victoria Pennant in 2023 for the 140th year of the competition. After a 15 year hiatus, the pinnacle competition is back and welcomes some of the best of Victorian tennis players to the courts.

Congratulations to the following clubs who have been successful in joining the State Grade competition in 2023.

In the Women’s competition, there will be six teams competing which are:

• Beaumaris Lawn Tennis Club
• Diggers Rest Tennis Club
• Grace Park Hawthorn Club
• Harkaway Tennis Club
• Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club
• Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club

In the Men’s competition, there are eight teams competing which are:

• Eildon Park Tennis Club
• Fawkner Tennis Club
• Grace Park Hawthorn Club
• Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club
• MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club
• North Ringwood Tennis Club
• Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club
• Tennis World

“All of us at Tennis Victoria are thrilled to welcome State Grade back, in our 140^th year of Pennant in 2023”, Sean Spralja, Competitions Coordinator at Tennis Victoria stated.

“There is a real sense of anticipation and excitement about the season ahead with many familiar names joining teams across the competition.”

Tennis Victoria Pennant starts from Saturday 22 April. All fixtures are available on Match Centre.

The Women’s State Grade competition will begin on Saturday 22 April. The Men’s State Grade Competition will begin on Saturday 6 May.

Diggers Rest Tennis Club will be lead by world No.255 Destanee Aiava while Belinda Woolcock will be hard to beat representing Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club in the Women’s Competition.

MCC Glen Iris Valley stalwart Aaron Addison returns from a successful Tennis Victoria Premier League competition in 2022 to again lead the team. Jeremy Beale and Corey Gaal will represent Eildon Park Tennis Club in their State Grade campaign hoping to put the Rowville club in the finals.
