It’s been a busy month for tennis in Victoria on and off the court. Our Thriving Tennis Tour kicked off in Geelong on April 30, and in Bendigo on May 7. Both events were fantastic, with local clubs, coaches and associations coming together for the day. The tour will continue with three more stops; Shepparton, Traralgon and Melbourne. For more information and how to book your ticket, visit here.
The State League Championships took place at the end of April for the second consecutive year, bigger and better. With perfect, clear blue skies all weekend, the event was hard to fault! All of the teams battled it out from start to finish in great spirits. It was a huge success again; congratulations to all who competed over the weekend and to our winners and finalists. The results from the weekend can be found here.
Tennis Victoria’s Pennant and State Grade is officially back in action! The Men’s (Round 1) and Women’s (Round 2) State Grade fixtures marked the first time this season all 14 teams competed on court. Grades 1-12 have also began their season, with tennis in full swing across the state now. Unfortunately the weather was not as kind to start the season, however, most teams got a good hit out on the weekend. To stay updated on the match fixtures and results visit the Tennis Victoria social media channels and website.
Next week, we celebrate National Volunteers Week from May 15-21. Tennis would simply not exist without our volunteers, so next week is for you. We see you and appreciate you, not just next week, but every day.
We are looking forward to seeing some of you at the Thriving Tennis Tours across the state in the coming weeks.
Until next time,
Adam Crameri
