Tennis Australia’s Junior Development Coaching Course has taken place at Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club over the first half of 2023.
The Junior Development qualification focuses on planning, delivering and reflecting on coaching sessions and creating positive learning environments for children. In 2023 the course has been delivered in partnership with Royal South Yarra Tennis Club in Melbourne – check out an overview of the course in our Tennis Victoria case study video below:
“We do a lot of work on Hot Shots, Cardio Tennis, but also spend time off-court working on important topics such as risk management and how coaches work with and deal with their customers.” – Rufus Keown, Head of Coaching at Tennis Victoria.
Facts about the current 2023 Junior Development Coaching Course:
- 9 Coaches from clubs all over metro Melbourne registered for the course.
- Run at the iconic RSYLTC, with great access to their world-class facilities.
- A partnership between Tennis Victoria, Tennis Australia and RSYLTC to upskill more quality coaches to enter the coaching workforce and grow the game.
- The Junior Development course is a significant commitment, involving 17 days over 6 months to prepare coaches to plan, deliver and reflect on coaching sessions and create positive learning environments.
